Gary Wright
Head Coach
Gary Wright was hired as the head football coach for Loara High School in February of 2023. He has over 30 years of experience coaching football starting at his Alma Mater of Santiago High where he spent 9 years. From there he would be hired on at Anaheim High to spend the next 22 years of his coaching career. Gary is running the offense for the Saxons this year as well as performing his other Head Coaching duties. He also works at Loara as a PE teacher. Gary has a wife, Amy, and three children, Theo, Jessica, and Donny.
Frank Cozza
Defensive Coordinator
Frank Cozza, of the famous Mama Cozza’s restaurant around the corner from the school, is a Loara graduate. He has coached football at Loara for many years and is a cornerstone of this program, helping the team and school in any way he can. Frank is the Defensive Coordinator as well as Linebackers coach for the Saxons this year.
Manny Gonzalez
Offensive Line/Defensive Backs
Manny Gonzalez has many years of experience coaching football both at Loara and at his Alma Mater of Anaheim High. He works in the school district as an Athletic Facilities Worker for Savanna High. Manny is the Offensive Line and Defensive Backs coach for the Saxons this year.
Chris Greenshields
Running Backs/Defensive Line
Chris Greenshields was brought on the coaching staff with Coach Wright in February 2023. This will be his 9th year of coaching high school football with most of his experience coming from Anaheim High in varying positions. Chris will be coaching the Running Backs and Defensive Line this season. His wife, Becca, will be seen at games helping in the snack bar.
Omar Paniagua
Wide Receivers
Omar Paniagua is back coaching football for the Saxons in 2025. Omar went to Loara and has playing experience at the college level for Santa Ana College. He will serve as the Saxons Wide Receivers coach this year.
James Ruiz
Quarterbacks
James Ruiz will be joining the coaching staff in 2025 coming from several years of experience in LA area schools, as well as playing experience at Santa Ana College and the University of La Verne. James also runs his own QB school called Triple 7. He will be the Saxons Quarterback coach.
Kenny Williams
Assistant Coach
Kenny Williams, a Loara graduate, is starting his second season with the Saxons. His son Kraven is a player on the team as well. Kenny will be helping all over the field, lending his experience everywhere he can.
Wes Owens
Freshmen Coach
Wes Owens is entering his third year coaching football for the Saxons in 2025. He is an Instructional Aide at Loara and also coaches Basketball for the school. Wes will be coaching the Freshmen team this year.
Zach Etcheberry
Freshmen Coach
Zack Etcheberry, a baseball coach for the Scrappin Saxons as well, joined the football coaching staff in 2024. He will be a Freshmen coach this season.
Joseph Mora
Freshmen Coach
Joseph Mora is entering his second year coaching football for the Saxons in 2025. As a graduate of Loara and with playing experience at the college level for Santa Ana College, Joseph will be coaching a Freshmen coach.
