Gary Wright
Head Coach
Gary Wright was hired as the head football coach for Loara High School in February of 2023. He has over 30 years of experience coaching football starting at his Alma Mater of Santiago High where he spent 9 years. From there he would be hired on at Anaheim High to spend the next 22 years of his coaching career. Gary is running the offense for the Saxons this year as well as performing his other Head Coaching duties. He also works at Loara as a PE teacher. Gary has a wife, Amy, and three children, Theo, Jessica, and Donny.
Frank Cozza
Defensive Coordinator
Frank Cozza, of the famous Mama Cozza’s restaurant around the corner from the school, is a Loara graduate. He has coached football at Loara for many years and is a cornerstone of this program, helping the team and school in any way he can. Frank is the Defensive Coordinator as well as Linebackers coach for the Saxons this year.
Manny Gonzalez
Wide Receivers/Defensive Backs
Manny Gonzalez has with many years of experience coaching football both at Loara and at his Alma Mater of Anaheim High. He works in the school district as an Athletic Facilities Worker for Savanna High. Manny is the Wide Receivers and Defensive Backs coach for the Saxons this year.
Chris Greenshields
Running Backs
Chris Greenshields was brought on the coaching staff with Coach Wright in February 2023. This will be his 8th year of coaching high school football with most of his experience coming from Anaheim High in varying positions. Chris will again be the Running Backs coach this season. His wife, Becca, will be seen at games helping in the snack bar.
Joseph Mora
Offensive Line/Defensive Line
Joseph Mora is entering his first full year coaching football for the Saxons in 2024. As a graduate of Loara and with playing experience at the college level for Santa Ana College, Joseph will be coaching the offensive and defensive lines.
Josh Aguilar
Assistant Coach
Josh Aguilar will be joining the coaching staff in what will be his first year coaching football. An employee for the District, Jos will be an assistant coach, focusing on helping with the Wide Receivers and Defensive Backs.
Rich Taylor
Freshmen Head Coach
Rich Taylor brings a ton of coaching experience to the Saxon squad. Also teaching at Loara, he will be the Freshmen team’s head coach.
Wes Owens
Freshmen Coach
Wes Owens is entering his second year coaching football for the Saxons in 2024. He is an Instructional Aide at Loara and also coaches Basketball for the school. Wes will be coaching the Freshmen team this year.
Zach Etcheberry
Freshmen Coach
Zack Etcheberry, a baseball coach for the Scrappin Saxons, joins the football coaching staff in 2024. He will be a Freshmen coach this season.
Bill Kellogg
Freshmen Coach
Bill Kellogg, a teacher at Loara, joins the football coaching staff in 2024. He will be a Freshmen coach this season.
