Gary Wright
Head Coach
Gary Wright was hired as the head football coach for Loara High School in February of 2023. He has over 30 years of experience coaching football starting at his Alma Mater of Santiago High where he spent 9 years. From there he would be hired on at Anaheim High to spend the next 22 years of his coaching career. Gary is running the offense for the Saxons this year as well as performing his other Head Coaching duties. He also works at Loara as a PE teacher. Gary has a wife, Amy, and three children, Theo, Jessica, and Donny.
Ricardo Moreno
Defensive Coordinator
Ricardo Moreno joins the coaching staff in 2026 as the new Saxon Defensive Coordinator. Already working in the district as the Athletic Facilities Worker for Western high, Coach Moreno was last at Norwalk High in the same role where he brings a fast and physical defense with him and a winning pedigree. Along with his coordinator responsibilities, he will also coach the Middle Linebackers.
Frank Cozza
Outside Linebackers
Frank Cozza, of the famous Mama Cozza’s restaurant around the corner from the school, is a Loara graduate. He has coached football at Loara for many years and is a cornerstone of this program, helping the team and school in any way he can. Frank will serve as the Outside Linebackers coach for the Saxons this year.
Chris Greenshields
Running Backs/Defensive Line
Chris Greenshields was brought on the coaching staff with Coach Wright in 2023. This will be his 10th year of coaching high school football with his first 6 years of experience coming from Anaheim High in varying positions. Chris will be coaching the Running Backs and Defensive Line this season. His wife, Becca, will be seen at games helping in the snack bar.
Manny Gonzalez
Assistant Offensive Line/Defensive Line
Manny Gonzalez has many years of experience coaching football both at Loara and at his Alma Mater of Anaheim High. He works in the school district as an Athletic Facilities Worker for Savanna High. Manny will be the assistant offensive line and defensive line coach for the Saxons this year.
Glen Stephens
Quarterbacks
Glen Stephens joined the Saxon coaching staff in 2025 as a QB coach. He has numerous years of coaching experience coming from Buena Park High.
Joe Martinez
Wide Receivers/Defensive Backs
Joe Martinez joins the Saxon coaching staff in 2026. This is his first year coaching at the high school level with all his experience coming from youth football.
Omar Paniagua
Assistant Coach
Omar Paniagua is back coaching football for the Saxons in 2026. Omar went to Loara and has playing experience at the college level for Santa Ana College. He will serve as an assistant coach this year.
Zach Etcheberry
Freshmen Coach
Zack Etcheberry, a baseball coach for the Scrappin Saxons as well, joined the football coaching staff in 2024. He will be a Freshmen coach this season.
Joseph Mora
Freshmen Coach
Joseph Mora is entering his Third year coaching football for the Saxons in 2026. As a graduate of Loara and with playing experience at the college level for Santa Ana College, Joseph will be coaching the Freshmen team.
